Have you ever heard of mystery shopping? It is where a mystery or secret shopper evaluates the quality of service and/or product. Companies use it to check if its services and products are complying with its standards. Interesting, right? Well, I recently discovered that there’s an opportunity to become a mystery shopper for airlines AND reimburse 50% of your airfare with Evaluate It by SQM!
By completing a customer service evaluation, you can reimburse 50% of your airfare with Evaluate It by SQM! I haven’t tried it yet, but if this is real, then, it is a VERY GOOD DEAL especially for those who love to travel.
Many of you might be curious by now. So am I!
How to Reimburse 50% of Your Airfare with Evaluate It by SQM:
1. Apply in their website to become a mystery shopper
2. Search for an assignment in Air Transportation category
3. Complete the SQM/Airline Travel Agreement (request will only be processed if it’s complete)
Since I haven’t tried this yet, this is the part which I am most concerned about. Booking of tickets MUST be done directly with SQM (Sensors Quality Management Inc.) which includes giving out your credit card information. You can request to pay via PayPal and they’ll send you a PayPal invoice.
*If it helps, I’ve read in some blogs that they were successful in booking and reimbursing a flight. You can also send your travel plans directly to SQM to check the availability and pricing before a booking is made.
4. Once full payment is made, SQM will e-mail an official Airline e-ticket
This e-ticket will be presented to the Airline to get the boarding pass.
5. Conduct your evaluation
6. Submit your evaluation within 72 hours of landing
7. After SQM has received and processed the evaluation report, the credit card used will be reimbursed 50% of the cost of the flight
Majority of the flights are from 2 major airlines in Canada and US. Sorry, I can’t mention which airlines because it’s mystery shopping. As of today, the countries with flights available for Evaluate It by SQM’s mystery shopping are Canada, China, Germany, South Korea, and USA.
I will try to complete an assignment soon to confirm if I will really get reimbursed. I really hope that it’s true! I have always wanted to become a mystery shopper. Aside from enjoying doing product and service reviews, I like how I can “earn” or at least get a big discount from something that Mr. C and I will really purchase. Wish us luck!! ♥

I’d just like to clarify a few things about the credit cards. — By purchasing your airfare on a credit card, both SQM and yourself are protected and connected through the credit card issuer. Mystery shoppers are also welcome to place a call to their issuer to verify legitimacy! SQM is very open to communication, as they understand that information and safety are important to their mystery shoppers 🙂
